My name is Reece Alvarado and I am currently a senior pursuing a mechanical engineering degree. I am from Hawaii and I grew up on the island of Oahu. I love the outdoors and doing activities that keep me away from social media and technology. Growing up on the islands, the most fun activities you can do is go to the beach, surf/bodysurf/bodyboard, and hike, so Utah felt like the perfect place to attend college. I love to rock climb, snowboard, hike, and pretty much do anything outdoors.

 

I have been playing kendama for two and a half years and I was instantly hooked the moment I picked one up. For my EDGE project, I wanted to spread my love for the game in hopes of bringing as much joy to others as kendama has for me. Creating the kendama club has allowed me to do this in addition to developing my skills as a leader.
